Mining Asset Valuation

Inspection of Mining Equipment

When it comes to change in ownership for mine sites or new contractors take over often the contribute starts. What is the residual value of the present assets? Who can evaluate the current value and condition of big iron without a conflict of interest? Are there external experts that understand machinery, plant and equipment conditions on one hand and are able to validate the market prices for fleets of equipment on the other hand?

Experienced Team of Engineers

Mevas has done a couple of asset audits and valuations for quarry, mining and open pit equipment. A selection of our larger projects so far:

2010-2012: Inspection of more than 1.200 Caterpillar machines for Caterpillar Financial at various locations in Europe.

2013: Inspection and valuation of all mobile machines in a larger Quarry in Spain

2015: Inspection and valuation of 85 excavators, wheel loaders and railway construction machines at sites of SERSA-Group.

2016: Inspection and Valuation of 68 large mobile machines and processing plants in Quarries of Hartsteinwerke Burg, Basalt-AG, Germany.

2017: Inspection of 160 used and semi-new bulldozers and excavators at the OLAM plantations in Gabun/Africa.

2018: Fleet-Audit for the new contractor at the Ariane Airspace center in French Guyana. 150 rolling items.

2019: Valuation of 180 used heavy machines in Qatar; Inspection of 125 machines of Manchester Waste Recycling Management on behalf of SUEZ.

Machinery and Asset Valuation and Appraisal

The Mevas team has done various jobs since 2006. With our team we are flexible enough to inspect a whole fleet of machines within a short period of time.
A well-organized team of technicians can travel to any place in the world, managed by our German team. Good connections in the world of heavy equipment enable us to examine realistic residual values for equipment.
We are absolutely independent, not interested in trading with machinery. We have a good reputation for equipment inspections and various CAT dealers around the globe hire us for used machinery inspections. We are ready to support your business.

Fleet Audit

In some stages of operation in a mine, in a quarry or a construction company it is necessary to record and document the correct status of the current state of equipment by a third party. Most appraisers or experts are just able to evaluate a certain part of a fleet. We at Mevas have done larger inspection and audit projects and know how to do it the right way.

Caterpillar, Komatsu, Terex

Mevas can look back to many inspections and valuations of larger equipment. We have inspected bulldozers up to CAT D11R, trucks up to CAT 777F, face shovel excavators up to Komatsu PC 2000, motor-graders up to CAT 16M and various other larger iron. We inspected all size of scrapers.

Atlas Copco, Tamrock, Sandvik

The inspection and valuation of blast hole rock drills is a specific job. Machines are complicated and having not just an engine and a hydraulic system but also a hammer, a compressor and a dust collector. Drill rod carousels and undercarriage make the drilling unit complete. Not many tecnichians are able to perform a profund inspection.

Mine site experience of team

Members of our inspection team have experience with working on larger mining and construction sites. We have been in Russia on pipeline projects, we inspected dumper fleets in African goldfields, we have been in coal mines in Kentucky and we have inspected machine fleets on huge plantations in Western Africa.
